“THANK A VET” DISCOUNT PROGRAM
We are proud to honor our nation’s veterans by partnering with local businesses to offer discounts as a token of appreciation for their service. Veterans who file their DD form 214 HONORABLE military discharge papers at the Register of Deeds office will be given a “Thank A Vet” photo ID card. Present this card for a discount on goods and services at participating businesses in Pender County. Regular recording hours for DD form 214 are Monday – Friday 9am to 4pm.
To be issued an ID card a Veteran will need to bring the following:
- A state-issued driver’s license or identification card
- Veteran’s social security card
- Veteran’s original DD form 214 Honorable Discharge papers
The “Thank A Vet” discount program is free to Veterans and to participating businesses.
Note: if your have previously recorded your DD form 214 here at our office, then we will verify we have it in our records before issuing your ID card. If you have not recorded your DD form 214 at our office you can easily record your original with us at NO CHARGE.

Discounts may be a percentage of the sales or a specific dollar amount (both can be with restrictions). We are appreciative of any level of participation possible and will send each business a window cling to display showing our Veterans and your customers that you participate in this program supporting our Veterans.
