The filing period for the 2025 municipal elections in Pender County opens at 8 a.m. Monday, July 7, and closes at noon on Friday, July 18.
All candidate filings must be completed in person at the Pender County Board of Elections, located at 807 S. Walker St., Burgaw, NC 28425.
Prospective candidates can find additional information on the North Carolina State Board of Elections website at ncsbe.gov/candidates.
The following municipal offices are open for election:
- Town of Atkinson: One mayor and two commissioner seats – $6 filing fee
- Town of Burgaw: One mayor seat – $54 filing fee
- Town of Burgaw: Two commissioner seats – $48 filing fee
- Town of Topsail Beach: One unexpired mayor term and three commissioner seats – $60 filing fee
- Town of Watha: One mayor and two commissioner seats – $6 filing fee
- Village of St. Helena: One mayor seat – $18.96 filing fee; three councilmember seats – $16.44 filing fee
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025.
