All Pender County offices will be closed on Monday, November 12th in observance of the Veteran’s Day holiday. We will reopen Tuesday, November 13th.
The DEA’s next Prescription Drug Take Back Day is October 27, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.
In an effort to reduce the risk of misuse or accidental exposure to medications, including opioids and other prescriptions, New Hanover Regional Medical Center is scheduled to have a free medication disposal event throughout 6 counties, with 17 drop-off locations.
Pender County will have 4 drop-off locations for the event:
1. Pender Memorial Hospital
2. Island Family Medicine
3. Village Pharmacy of Hampstead, Inc.
4. Black River Health Services (Maple Hill)

The Pender County Health Department and all other Pender County offices will close at noon on Thursday, Oct. 11, due to the arrival of Hurricane Michael.
Business hours will resume Friday, Oct. 12.
In response to Hurricane Florence, the Health Department has Tetanus and Diphtheria (Td) and Tetanus Diphtheria Acellular Pertussis (Tdap) Vaccines available to disaster survivors and emergency response workers free of charge. Call 910-259-1230 for more information.
