Pender County offers a wide range of meaningful ways to get involved, support your neighbors, and make a difference. Whether you're interested in volunteering, joining a board or committee, supporting local events, or helping through nonprofit organizations, there’s something for everyone. From gardening to supporting literacy, and providing food assistance to supporting families, each opportunity helps build a stronger, more connected community.

The 4C's Food Pantry - The mission of the 4C's Food Pantry is to serve Christ by providing healthy, nutritious food to our neighbors in need in Eastern Pender County and beyond. We do this in a cheerful, welcoming, nonjudgmental environment without regard to age, race, creed, color, national origin, physical or developmental disability and with the potential of restoring dignity, health, opportunity and hope to food-insecure families and individuals.

Burgaw Area Chamber of Commerce - The Burgaw Area Chamber of Commerce is committed to helping the Burgaw area business community prosper. The BACC is a membership-based, non-profit organization. Members and volunteers share a single goal of improving the economy and enhancing the overall quality of our community by embracing the vision of power and local business.

Extension Master Gardener Volunteers of Pender County - Master Gardener Volunteers are members of the local community who take an active interest in their landscapes and gardens. They are enthusiastic, willing to learn and help others, and able to communicate with diverse groups of people. As part of the volunteer program of NC State University's Cooperative Extension, Master Gardener Volunteers provide unbiased, research-based educational assistance and programs in horticulture and environmental issues to the gardening public.

Fresh Start Rescue - Rescuing, rehabbing, and housing unwanted reptiles with the goal of finding them a forever home.

Greater Topsail Community Garden - The garden is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of the Topsail Island Area and the Surf City Rotary Club to coordinate community volunteers to grow and harvest fresh produce year-round for food-insecure clients of Share the Table. Community work days will be publicized on our Facebook and Instagram pages. If you’d like to provide volunteer resources or donate funds, please contact TopsailNCCommunityGarden@gmail.com.

Greater Topsail Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism - The Greater Topsail Area Chamber of Commerce's primary objective is to make this area an even better place to live, work, build a future, and play! A vital part of the Chamber's mission is to assist in the economic development of our region and to help community growth. We do that through providing services, educational opportunities, creative strategies, demonstrating community leadership, and collaboration with all. 

Hamilton's Healing Hearts, Inc. - Provides compassionate, life-saving care and a renewed opportunity for happiness to at-risk, elderly, and special needs dogs and cats.

The Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue & Rehabilitation Center - To conserve and protect all species of marine turtles, both in the water and on the beach; to rescue, rehabilitate, and release sick and injured sea turtles; to inform and educate the public regarding the plight of all sea turtles and the threat of their extinction; and to provide an experiential learning site for students of biology, wildlife conservation, and/or veterinary medicine from around the world.

Moores Creek National Battlefield - The National Park Service preserves unimpaired the natural and cultural resources and values of the national park system for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of this and future generations. The Park Service cooperates with partners to extend the benefits of natural and cultural resource conservation and outdoor recreation throughout this country and the world.

NC Blueberry Festival - The North Carolina Blueberry Festival in Burgaw aims to celebrate the historical, economic, and cultural importance of blueberries in the southeastern region of the state. It also serves as a heritage celebration that brings the community together to honor the berry. The festival also supports education and local initiatives by providing scholarships and funding local programs. 

Pender Adult Services - Non-Profit Organization Serving Pender County, North Carolina. We are committed to providing our community a safe, stable environment in which individuals can maintain their independence, good health practices, and a healthy sense of self-esteem. 

Pender AUXCOMM - To provide auxiliary communications services to Pender County area public safety, government, and community organizations as a redundant resource during events and disasters, as well as providing opportunities for licensed amateur radio operators to receive training and information necessary to fulfill these needs.

Pender Bridge of Hope - Pender Bridge of Hope is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2022. Our mission is to support working residents of Pender County during times of financial crisis. PBH accomplishes this by fundraising and paying legitimate bills for families in need.

Pender Christian Services - PCCS is a nonprofit community resource center serving the citizens of Pender County. They offer resources and support in times of need through the food pantry, thrift store, and other programs and services. Pender County Christian Services (PCCS) and Willard Outreach Organization (WOO) have teamed up to better serve Pender County families in need. The Pender Alliance Council Resource Center is housed at the Willard Outreach Community Center, 9955 NC Hwy 11, Willard, NC 28478. New partnership programs include food security, youth programs, disaster relief, and other human services. 

Pender County Humane Society - dedicated to improving the lives of homeless and unwanted animals by providing shelter and medical care while finding loving and responsible permanent homes. We work to prevent cruelty and overpopulation among dogs and cats and to help assist and educate the public about responsible pet care.

Pender Medical Center - Novant - Novant Health exists to improve the health of communities, one person at a time.

Pender Sheriff's Charitable Foundation - To support innovative programs and provide funding for technology and equipment that support the Pender Sheriff's Organization in its efforts to make Pender County a safer community.

PORCH Pender - is an all-volunteer, grassroots hunger relief organization. We collect food and cash donations through monthly neighborhood food drives and deliver the contributions to our local food pantries who provide emergency food to individuals and families in our area.

Rape Crisis Center of Coastal Horizons Center, Inc. - offers free and confidential services to victims of sexual violence and their friends, family and loved ones in New Hanover, Pender, Brunswick, and Duplin counties. RCC provides victims of sexual assault with 24-hour crisis response, individual counseling, information and referrals, and law enforcement/court advocacy and accompaniment. Volunteer opportunities include direct service and outreach. 

Reel Housewives of Topsail Island - The Reel Housewives of Topsail Island is a non-profit organization which uses the money raised from an island bicycle ride to help local breast cancer victims. The 26.2 mile bicycle ride takes place the first Saturday in October every year. The ride will start and finish at the Surf City Soundside Park (the event begins at 8:00AM; the ride starts at 9:00AM). Registration events are held at various local venues leading up to the ride. Join us in making a difference! 

Safe Haven of Pender County - Their purpose is to empower and teach self-sufficiency to the victims of domesDone Editingtic abuse. The restoration of a survivor’s power and control over their own lives is the driving force behind our services.

Share the Table - Our mission is to respond to God’s call to nourish our community by providing food where there is hunger, fellowship where there is loneliness, and education to end the cycle of food insecurity.

Smart Start - The mission of Smart Start of Pender County, Inc. is to support services that provide opportunities for every child to grow into his or her potential as a person. If you are interested in serving on the Smart Start of Pender County Board of Directors or volunteering with our agency, please contact our office at 259-9978 or stop by and visit.

Surf City Live - As a volunteer, you’ll be more than just part of the behind-the-scenes magic that brings our shows to life – you’ll be a wave of positivity in our community. You’ll contribute to creating unforgettable experiences for our guests, forging friendships with fellow volunteers and staff, and building lasting memories. Your hard work and dedication won’t go unnoticed – you’ll receive appreciation and recognition for your efforts.

Topsail Township Friends of the Library - To support the Hampstead Branch Library of Pender County with funds that supplement their government budget. To advocate for the importance of the library to the community.
