More than 200 people attended the grand opening of Hampstead Kiwanis Park Phase IV on Wednesday, Sept. 4. The celebration featured a ceremonial ribbon-cutting, remarks from county officials and community leaders, family-friendly activities, and tours of the park’s newest amenities.
Phase IV marks a major milestone in the park’s development, adding a wide range of recreational enhancements. The expansion includes six tennis courts, four pickleball courts, two basketball courts, two multipurpose fields, an extended multiuse path, a reservable picnic shelter, modern restrooms, and expanded parking.
The project was made possible through support from a North Carolina Parks and Recreation Trust Fund (PARTF) Grant, a United States Tennis Association (USTA) Facility Assistance Grant, and Hampstead Kiwanis Park Inc. These contributions played a vital role in bringing the vision to life.
