Pender County to Host Grand Opening for Hampstead Kiwanis Park Phase IV

Home Posted on August 08, 2025

Pender County invites the community to celebrate the completion of Phase IV at Hampstead Kiwanis Park with a grand opening event on Wednesday, Sept. 4, at 4:30 p.m. The celebration will feature a ceremonial ribbon-cutting, brief remarks from county officials and community leaders, family-friendly activities, and the opportunity to explore the park’s newest amenities.

Phase IV marks a major milestone in the park’s development, adding a wide range of recreational enhancements. New features include six tennis courts, four pickleball courts, two basketball courts, two multipurpose fields, an extended multiuse path, a reservable picnic shelter, modern restrooms, and expanded parking.

“This expansion reflects Pender County’s commitment to meeting the recreational needs of our growing community,” said Zach White, Parks and Recreation Director. “This multi-generational park will enhance the quality of life for our residents and visitors for many years to come.”

The public is encouraged to bring friends and family to enjoy this exciting new chapter in Hampstead Kiwanis Park’s growth and take advantage of the expanded recreational opportunities it now offers.

Phase IV was made possible through generous support from a North Carolina Parks and Recreation Trust Fund (PARTF) Grant, a United States Tennis Association (USTA) Facility Assistance Grant, and Hampstead Kiwanis Park Inc. These organizations' contributions played a vital role in bringing this vision to life.

Hampstead Kiwanis Park phase IV is located at 484 Sloop Point Loop Road, Hampstead, NC 28443
