Effective at 8 a.m. Wednesday, April 2nd, 2025, the Open Ban on Burning will be rescinded for all unincorporated areas of Pender County. Please follow all applicable laws for open burning within 100 feet of a dwelling. As a reminder, it is always illegal to burn non-vegetative debris, and burning 100 feet or more from a dwelling is regulated by the NC Forest Service.
As of 8 a.m. Wednesday, April 2nd, burn permits will be available statewide. Residents can obtain a burn permit from any authorized permitting agent or online at https://apps.ncagr.gov/burnpermits/.
