BURGAW, N.C. – The Pender County Board of County Commissioners and the Pender County Parks and Recreation Advisory Board invite the community to the groundbreaking ceremony for Central Pender Park on Wednesday, March 27, at 1 p.m. The event will take place at 3378 U.S. Highway 117 in Burgaw.
Central Pender Park will be a multi-use recreational facility designed to serve residents across the county. The park will feature a paved walking path, multipurpose fields, a playground, a concession stand, picnic shelters, restrooms, and open green space. The facility aims to provide opportunities for outdoor activities, youth sports, and community gatherings.
“This park is an investment in our community, providing much-needed recreational space for families, athletes, and residents of all ages,” said Zachary White Director of Pender County Parks and Recreation. “We are excited to break ground on a facility that will serve Pender County for years to come.”
Local officials and community leaders will deliver remarks during the ceremony. The public is encouraged to attend and celebrate this significant milestone in expanding recreational opportunities in Pender County.
