Tree seedling giveaway March 6 in Hampstead

HAMPSTEAD – The Pender County Parks and Recreation Department will host a tree seedling giveaway March 6, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Pender County Government Annex, 15060 US Hwy. 17.

“This is the perfect opportunity to replace trees that may have been lost during recent storms and hurricanes,” said Zach White, Pender County Parks and Recreation supervisor. “Tree selections include Red Maple, Live Oak, Silky Dogwood, Persimmon and Southern Crabapple. There is a limit of two seedlings per household.”

Tree species availability is subject to change without notice. All selections are on a first come, first served basis. The seedlings are bare root trees.
