Hampstead Kiwanis Park fields closed Monday for fertilizing
HAMPSTEAD – Kiwanis Park, located at 586 Sloop Point Loop Rd. in Hampstead, will close all playing fields Monday, March 30, from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. to fertilize the fields in preparation for spring and summer play.
The walking path will not be impacted; however, the Sloop Point Loop Road entrance will be closed during the fertilization process. The park may be accessed by the entrance on Country Club Drive.
“The walking trail will remain open and we urge all users to practice social distancing,” Joe Camperlengo, the head of park grounds, said.
The fertilization process of the playing fields is expected to be complete by 1 p.m. and the park will re-open at the Sloop Point Loop Road entrance.
“The spraying of fertilizer is by no means connected to any COVID-19 issues,” said Camperlengo. “This is for the treatment of the grassy fields for future use.”
