Road Closure SR 1563 (Sloop Point Loop Rd) From SR 1693 (Doral Dr) to SR 1759 (Middle Point Rd)

The North Carolina Department of Transportation will close SR 1563 (Sloop Point Loop Road) from SR 1693 (Doral Dr) to SR 1759 (Middle Point Rd) beginning Monday June 18, 2018 at 8:30am through Sunday August 19, 2018 at 5:00pm.  There will also be intermittent lane closures in front of Kiwanis Park at the intersection of Country Club Rd.  This work is to complete a new multi-use path along Sloop Point Loop Rd from the Kiwanis Park to Topsail Elementary School.

“During this time, please use caution as crews will be monitoring and maintaining this detour”.  “The contractor will be working to deliver the work in the allotted timeframe prior to the beginning of the new school year “, said Assistant Resident, Frank Dixon.

The NCDOT reminds motorists to STAY ALERT, use alternate routes when possible during this period, drive with caution, obey the posted speed limits, and allow extra travel time.
